Dear Parents,

We are now in the third week of Advent and the rose colored candle has been lit which means we are joyously awaiting to celebrate the birth of Jesus. There were so many joy filled children at our annual Pizza with Santa event last Wednesday evening! The joy on their innocent faces as Santa arrived was truly heartwarming. It was a true blessing for me to get to spend time with everyone in a social setting. To see our families together smiling and laughing and enjoying each others company brings the true meaning of community to life.

I would like to extend a very big thank you to Tracy Ferreira for all her hard work and leadership in organizing this event each year. I am also grateful to Sandra Gracia for helping to set up, and to all of our 7th and 8th graders who came to serve. The evening was a huge success.

Quote from Pope Francis:

"Let us prepare our hearts to welcome God who leaves behind his greatness to be close to each one of us."

Faithfully Yours,

Miss Giaquinto

We welcome her to our SCSS community as she transitions into this position.

School Closings and Delays!

St. Catherine of Siena School follows the Trumbull Public Schools for weather related closings, delays and early dismissals. The decision is made by the Superintendent of the Trumbull Public Schools.  If you see that Trumbull Public Schools are closed or delayed, we will follow suit.

For these announcements please check our school website after 6:00 am or watch the CT news stations for the listing. You can also register your cell phone number with the CT news stations for closing and delay alerts to be sent directly to your phone.

We will only send out our own notification if we are already in school and the town announces an early dismissal.

A Few Things...

Morning Drop Off: PLEASE be mindful of the morning drop off procedures. It is highly recommended that you drop off your child in the car line near the Principal. If you choose to park your car, then you MUST walk across to the family center sidewalk and follow the path to the school building.  Please DO NOT cross in  front of the car line. This is dangerous and is a safety issue. So please for the safety of our children and parents I ask that you adhere to the rules.  Thank you.

Dismissal: Please DO NOT park along the curbs on the side of the church and in the dividers of the parking lot.  Buses can not get around the cars as they pull in to pick up the children. This is a safety concern! Thank you.

Tardiness: I have been noticing an increase in the number of students who are late for school this year. If a student comes to school once the prayer bell has rung at 7:50 am they are considered tardy. The procedure is to stop at the nurse for a tardy slip before going to class.
