From Our House To Yours!

 
Welcome Patti Cooper, Emilie Bender, Diondria Brown and Brenda Crayton!

Please join us in welcoming Patti Cooper, our new House Operations Associate. Patti comes to us from Capital Group as a Client Services Associate. Prior to that she was the Special Services Manager for Public Safety Medical which handles medical and fitness related activities and initiatives for police and fire departments statewide. She earned her BS in Business Administration from the Indiana Institute of Technology. She considers herself a lifelong volunteer who has been involved with a variety of non-profits. She is currently very active with ARPO (Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership). Patti's schedule will be during the day Monday through Friday.
  
Marco Ray will assist with the transition. His last day as Guest Services Assistant Manager is 12/16. At that time he will resume his original position as one of our part-time Guest Services Assistants.
  
We will also have three new part-time Guest Services Assistants including: Emilie Bender who has a background in property management and public health; Diondria Brown who has a Bachelor of Social Work degree and has worked with the Department of Child Services; Brenda Crayton who has a medical assistant certificate and has worked in various positions related to patient coordination and outreach.
 
Going Home for the Holidays?
  
If you are scheduled to volunteer the week of Christmas or New Years, please remember to let Mary Friend know if you will be absent from your shift so she can take you off the schedule.

In addition, if you have some extra time over the holidays and are available to help at the House, please contact Mary Friend at [email protected] regarding open shifts.

We are having a fun hunt for the House elf, Rudy, who will be moving daily for guests to find.  Guests can enter a drawing by filling out a drawing slip and placing it in the wooden box at the greeter's desk.

Mission Moment

 

"Thank you so much for your support of the Ronald McDonald House.  It is so good to have a safe, clean place to stay when my son needs to be in Indy for treatments at Riley (we live 2 1/2 hours away).  We really appreciate having the comforts of home away from home."

Operations Update - Limestone   
  • We are receiving a number of donations from the Holiday Wish List.  These items will be used in Santa's Workshop and are to be placed in front of the cage in the basement.  All other general donations need to be sorted by perishable and non-perishable and placed in their normal sorting spaces.
  • Please refer to the list of procedures when doing a check-in to make sure important steps, such as filling out the registration card, completely are not forgotten.
