BEST Robotics Shines at Competition
|
Congratulations to our
BEST Robotics teams who competed at the Front Range BEST competition this past weekend at Englewood High School.
Our first-year middle school team, Team Backdraft, won Rookie Team of the Year! They placed 6th in the robot competition, shutting out teams with much more experience.
A big congrats to the high school team who, in addition to coming in 3rd place in the overall BEST award, also won 1st place Software Design Award, 1st place Founders Award, 1st place Outreach Award, tied for 1st place Spirit and Sportsmanship Award, and 1st place Game Award. The team received an invitation to the Regional competition in December, which will take place in Denver for the first time. We are so proud of their accomplishments and the way they represented STEM!

"Tops for Tops" Effort
STEM TSA is collecting soda can tabs to help the Ronald McDonald Charities, helping families with sick children find support and comfort. We are having a school-wide contest amongst the students to find out who can bring in the most tops. Students - this is held in your 8th period classroom!
Fleece for Fighters
For the third year in a row, STEM TSA is joining the statewide effort to make fleece blankets for kids with pediatric cancer in the "Fleece for Fighters" campaign. We currently have 12 blankets and our goal is 500! Last year, STEM made 261 blankets! You can help in one of three ways: making blankets, donating money, or donating supplies.
