Chargers are hoping for a REPEAT at the DOME

Dear ELCA Family,

We couldn't be prouder of our ELCA varsity football team as they won Friday night's state semifinal game. We will compete for the State Championship on Friday, December 9, at 10:00 A.M. at the Georgia Dome. This game time is set by the Georgia High School Association and we have no control over it. Because so many of our students and their families are involved in football, band, and cheerleading and because so many fellow students and members of our staff are supporters of them all, school will be closed on December 9. This closing will take the place of one of the days we have incorporated into the school calendar for inclement weather, so we will forfeit no academic classroom time.

We understand this may create a challenge for some of our parents, so childcare will be provided at the school if needed. Students will need to be escorted into the building and checked in to the Elementary Library beginning at 7:00 A.M. and care will run until 3:15 P.M. at no charge. The After School Enrichment Program will operate as usual until 6:30 P.M. with customary charges. Pizza from Little Caesars will be served for lunch along with a drink and dessert. If your child cannot or will not eat this, a lunch should be sent from home.

In order to reserve a spot for your child that day, we must hear from you no later than Monday, December 5, at noon  so that we may plan accordingly. If your child is in K-3 or K-4, please contact  Mrs. Rodgers . All other grades should email  Ms. Brunette . Once you reserve a spot, you will receive further information regarding the care provided on December 9.

As always, thank you for your support and GO CHARGERS!
