Fall Time Fun

With beautiful fall-like weather, the Lake Pointe 2017 Fall Festival was a success! The elementary family portion of the day featured face painting, sack races, a bounce house, hay rides, and many other festival games. Later in the evening, secondary students enjoyed an evening of pumpkin carving, pie eating, and dancing. From the funds raised in the tickets sales, about 90% of the festival's profit will be going to this year's student life missions focus--to help build wells in areas without access to clean water!

Clubhouse Guatemala comes to LPA

Lori and Timothy Sunday, missionaries with Clubhouse Ministries in Guatemala, visited Wednesday afternoon to pick up the  stuffed bags from last Friday's event. They encouraged that those on Facebook follow the Clubhouse Ministries' page in order to see updates about how Lake Pointe participation is making a way for the gospel in Guatemala.

Preparation for the 2018-2019 school year is already under way as the monthly information meetings begin November 14.  These meetings are not only the first step in the application process but a great way for perspective families to learn about the heart and soul behind Lake Pointe. For more details about the events, visit or send those interested to the school's website.
In and around the classrooms

Growing bacteria

6th grade science hand crafted their own petri dishes in which they grew e-coli last week. Students were studying how these microscopic organisms multiply by observing their experiment over the course of several days. In the picture to the right, students sterilize their needles before ejecting the e-coli into their petri dishes.

Reading to Write
Mrs. De Sa read
The Bear of Hemlock Moutain out loud to the second grade class before sending them to write a couple sentences about their reactions to the story.

Debate Preparation
History classes across the secondary grade levels continue to prepare for their Lincoln-Douglas debates. Come watch these students on the afternoon of November 10th.

Cross Country State
The Lake Pointe Mariners ran in the SCACS state finals last Saturday on the SIM campus in Fort Mill. Running against seven other schools, a majority of the LPA's participants set new personal records with their finishing times. The Mariners finished 6th overall, with all three seniors placing in the top ten of their groups. Congratulation on a great season, cross country runners!
