_firefly_ says(): PRESS RELEASE
Washington, December 12, 2016 - New data released today shows an increase over the past five years in the amount of gas flared at oil production sites worldwide, reversing a trend of flaring reduction.
The flaring increase is mainly attributed to an overall growth in oil production, particularly in Iraq and the United States.
The data was released by the Global Gas Flaring Reduction Partnership (GGFR), a World Bank-led organization comprised of oil companies, governments, and international institutions working to reduce gas flaring. The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and GGFR have developed the flaring estimates based on observations from advanced sensors in a satellite launched in 2012.

GOOD AFTERNOON MG..I WANTED TO COMMENT ON ONE THING YOU POSTED THAT MAY BE A LITTLE LEADING IN NATURE,
WHEN TALKING ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS THAT IRAQ HAS AGREED TO IN THEIR LETTER OF INTENT TO THE IMF TO OBTAIN THEIR SBA LOAN YOU COMMENTED ABOUT BEING BAFFLED WITH THEIR COMMITMENT TO THE USD PEG.
I WANTED TO POINT OUT THAT THEY DO NOT NEED TO DROP THIS PEG IN ORDER TO COME TO THE INTERNATIONAL MARKET.
I DID A POST SEVERAL MONTHS BACK ABOUT EXCHANGE RATE REGIMES AND WHERE THE DINAR FITS INTO ALL OF THAT AND CURRENTLY IRAQ IS UNDER A STABILIZED AGREEMENT WITH A DOLLAR PEG.
THAT MEANS IT IS ACTUALLY A DE FACTO PEG AS DEFINED BY THE IMF.

loop says():(@) Maliki: It looks to reform the respect for the law
Il Giornale 6 minutes ago BAGHDAD - The Journal News The head of a coalition of state law, Nuri al-Maliki on the importance of respect for the law in the pursuit of the reform and the fight against corruption.
He said al-Maliki, Wednesday, "It is with all who seek to reform and battling corruption, but it must be real and honest claim, not through slogans and chants, not through attacking the institutions of government and drop the prestige of the state."
He noted that from looking forward to the reform and the fight against corruption, he has to respect the law, not to publish the armed groups in Baghdad and brandishing weapons and threatening those who oppose the formation of a technocrat government. Everyone must leave the language of threats and intimidation, and he has to take the dialogue approach which corrects what he sees as wrong and not in the interest of the people.

Dow hovers around 20,000 as Wall Street anxiously awaits Fed decision
Published: Dec 14, 2016 10:11 a.m. ET
U.S. stocks were tilting modestly lower Wednesday, with indexes trading in a tight range as investors awaited the outcome of a meeting by the policy-setting Federal Open Market Committee.
The Fed is widely expected to raise rates for the first time since last December, but Wall Street will keenly watch for clues about the health of the economy and the pace of rate increases from the Fed's statement at 2 p.m. Eastern and the news conference which follows, hosted by Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen.

December 14, 2016 Mnt Goat News Brief
Hi Everyone,
I bring you much news today. With December just about half over we are moving towards some real exciting times in early 2017, at least we are hopeful.
Many are wondering about my new format of the news letters and why I now call it "News Brief". My intent is to first include some upfront paragraphs to introduce key elements of the current news (news in brief). Then to present the articles that are noteworthy and backup the news, then comment on them when appropriate so you can further understand (news in detail).
But remember these comments are my opinion
from my study of this ongoing saga. After reading thousands of articles over the last 10 years and talking to Iraqi contacts (both military and govt), I think I have a good handle on the situation. I am not always correct in my opinions but the FACTS speak for themselves in the printed articles I also present.
