Earth Day: Opportunities to Work & Play!
West County events include clean-ups, gardening, music and art

Earth Day is officially Wednesday, April 22, with events through the week. From creek and shoreline cleanups, to neighborhood block parties, West County is home to a variety of Earth Day festivities this year.  

 

Take a look:  

 

When: Saturday, April 18  

9 am to 1:30 pm - Pre-register online at www.el-cerrito.org (search Earth Day) or    on Saturday morning at the El Cerrito Community Center, 7007 Moeser Lane, El Cerrito. Return to the community center for free lunch at noon.

8:30 am to noon - Meet at Pt. Isabel. Free refreshments.

  • Richmond: Veolia Water Shoreline Cleanup at Miller Knox Regional Park

9 am to 12:30 pm - Meet at Miller Knox Regional Park to clean shoreline. Free lunch and refreshments.

When: Saturday, April 25

  • El Sobrante - SPAWNERS Creek Cleanup, Family Fun, "Water Bug Team" event 

9 am to 12:30 pm - Meet behind the El Sobrante Library, 4191 Appian Way.

Cleaning San Pablo Creek; tree planting, arts & crafts. Free breakfast and lunch.

  • North Richmond Community Block Party, Creek Cleanup

9 am to 2 pm - Meet at Verde Elementary School, 2000 Giaramita Street. Creek cleanup, art activities, garden projects, ZUMBA, music, dancing and more. Free refreshments.
