INCOMPAS filed reply comments in the FCC proceeding on protecting consumers from unauthorized carrier changes (slamming) and related unauthorized charges (cramming). INCOMPAS noted that it "supports the Commission's efforts to protect consumers and target carriers using fraudulent methods to verify carrier changes or add unauthorized charges onto a consumer's bill."

However, INCOMPAS encouraged the Commission to not mandate a PIC freezes or require "double checks" by executing carriers, as those requirements would impede competition and competitive choice.

Last week, Sens. Roger Wicker (R-MS) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) introduced the " Streamlining Permitting to Enable Efficient Deployment of Broadband Infrastructure Act of 2017" (SPEED Act, S.1988), which would remove regulatory barriers to the deployment of wireless networks.

"By removing barriers to expanding 5G and small cells, the SPEED Act will help promote economic growth and create much-needed competition in the wireless market. We look forward to working with Sen.
