Have a Happy Healthy Halloween!
|
Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year with its costumes, jack-o-lanterns, and neighborhood trick or treating. But as all parents know, it's also a time with an onslaught of tempting candy, more than our kids need.
It's hard for children and parents to resist the billion dollar Halloween advertising blitz waged by junk food manufacturers. But we can try. It's possible to have a fun, festive, and delicious Halloween without excessive sugars, fats, and empty calories.
I encourage you to join the growing numbers of people passing out non-candy treats like pencils, erasers, stickers, small toys, or all-fruit snacks.
Stop by my office Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, October 28, 29, or 30 for a free Healthy Halloween sample bag.
All of these treats were purchased with generous donations from businesses and individuals in our community.
