Ambassador Navtej Sarna met with members of the CII-India Business Forum (CII-IBF) on December 14 at the Embassy. CII-IBF was represented by its Chairman Mr. Mani Iyer, President and CEO of Mahindra North America, and 20 other top representatives of its member companies.
Ambassador Sarna discussed the role played by the CII-IBF in promoting India-United States bilateral commercial relationship. CII-IBF members highlighted details of their contribution to the US economy in the form of investments and job creation. They discussed the enormous potential for bilateral trade and investment and how Indian companies could promote stronger business ties between the two countries.
CII-IBF was formed in 2006, and its current membership of 28, including top Indian companies such as TCS, Infosys, WIPRO, Dr. Reddys, Sun Pharma, Piramal Enterprises, Lupin, Wockhardt, ICICI Bank, Larsen and Toubro, etc.
