"HOLIDAY LUNCHES" ~ Join Rev. Bronte and other Unity-minded folks for coffee, tea or lunch plus positive conversation on Wed., Dec. 7 and Dec. 14 from 1:30 to about 2:30 at Jason's Deli on Hawthorne. This is a great way to keep our consciousnesses focused on love during the holiday season. Let us know if you're interested -- or just show up!
December 18: Annual Pre-Christmas Celebration.
This popular tradition includes carols, special music, giveaways (including gift cards), refreshments, holiday crafts for the kids, and more as we prepare for the week ahead.
Celebrate Christmas Eve at Unity Athens this year.
We will have one service from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with carols, candle lighting, and an uplifting message.
Our Christmas Morning (11:00) service focuses on Joy & Wonder while we sing, meditate, and appreciate our lives and blessings as we gather in sacred peace & love. As always, feel free to come very casual (pajamas included!).
Burning Bowl Ceremonies
will be held at our New Year's Eve (7:00 p.m.) and Morning (11:00) services. Think about what you'd like to "release," i.e., what no longer serves you; write it on the special paper; and toss it into the Burning Bowl.
The morning service will include a White Stone Ceremony: receive guidance for a new "name," symbol, or "way of being" for 2017 and beyond.
Project Safe Christmas Giving: Unity Athens will once again be supporting the children and families of Project Safe by sponsoring families affected by domestic violence. If you are interested in helping, we will have "wish lists" available at church or contact us at [email protected].
Great Reads! Check out the many gently used books in our bookstore. Most are priced at under $5. Great titles from Deepak Chopra, Abraham-Hicks, Eckhart Tolle, Eric Butterworth, and more! We also have a selection of new books, including texts used in classes and book groups."
Book Study Groups are now being planned to start in January. Scheduled dates & times will be announced.
