Last week's survey results on the question of......
|
Do you do your own product durability testing, like sticking vinyl out in the sun for a year to see what happens to it?:
|
- Yes, I have been testing vinyl v paint since 1987, with some very interesting results. I started doing these test due to unsound info from product reps, & for my own satisfaction. A lot of test results we were getting from reps where done way done south, We are up here in Far North Queensland & we experience a lot of varying weather conditions. Warranties given by supply companies don't mean anything (Bernie, Geraldton GraFX).
- Yes we do it for the digital prints on cor flutes all the time.
- All of our own signs have a date of production and material used on the sign, that allows us to keep an i on them. When discussing with a customer durability i can show them on my car with the date showing when it was made.
- Not really, we did a few years back but not with any real intention of proving anything.
- Maybe not for a year, but I test wall print products before selling them and making promises. I have found a few that don't live up to their promises too.
- I used, to, and should start doing it again - but one year is a start, but is hardly enough for Aussie conditions.
I'm more interested in what's happened after or in 5+ years... Because WE have to stand behind OUR products, and some of the new products are miles cheaper than they used to be - but at what real cost to US ? (Ian, Traditional Signs)

Everyone was seated around the table as the food was being served.
When little Johnny received his plate, he started to eat straight away.
|"Johnny, wait until we've said our prayer," his mother reminded him.
I don't have to", - Johnny replied.
"Of course you do" his mother insisted. "We say a prayer before eating at our house."
"That's at our house", Johnny explained, "but this is Grandma's house and she knows how to cook"
