This Sunday!
August 27th from 5-6:30 PM
Join us for a Neighborhood Block Party! There's fun for your whole family with music, inflatables, and games for all ages. This is a community event and we encourage you to bring a friend or neighbor to join the fun! Food for purchase will be available from some of Birmingham's favorite food and dessert trucks such as Eugene's, Full Moon BBQ, and Dreamcakes. Shaded tent seating will be available. We'll see you in the church parking lot on August 27th from 5-6:30 PM.

Special Information Meetings
Canterbury members are invited to attend an informational meeting that will communicate the results of the recent market research project conducted earlier this spring.
The first meeting will be held after worship on Sunday, September 17th in Canterbury Center. The second will be held on Wednesday evening, September 20th at 6:15 in Canterbury Center.
In addition, complete copies of the research results are on hand in the Resource Center for any Canterburian who is interested in more detailed information. Contact Ellen Thomas if you are interested in this.

Getting Ready for Our 150th Anniversary
Canterbury turns 150 years old this October, and we are looking for historical information on Canterbury's past! If you have old pictures of events or people from Canterbury, please scan and send them to liz.kindred@canterburyumc.org or drop them off at the round reception desk. Please add your name and label the photo with names, dates, and a brief description.

Exclusive Open House
Join us for an exclusive open house inside the new Fair Haven Rehab facility on Monday, August 28th. We will meet at Canterbury at 10 AM and take the bus to Fair Haven. We will go to lunch after the tour. Please RSVP to Valerie at 874-1523.

In addition to her blog, Sophie speaks regularly to groups across the country, co-hosts The Big Boo Cast, contributes to the Pioneer Woman's blog, and serves as co-emcee for LifeWay's dotMOM event. Sophie is a funny & entertaining Southern writer and speaker who lives in Birmingham. She hopes that
through her stories, women find encouragement and hope in the everyday, joy-filled moments of life.
