Recovering our First Love
When the risen Christ addresses the busy, active, and long-suffering church at Ephesus in the Book of Revelation, he tells them, "you have lost the love you had at first." To what extent have we, like the church at Ephesus, also lost our first love? How might we, in the midst of our ministries, with all of their complexities and demands, remain disciples rather than become functionaries? Join the Right Reverend Frank T. Griswold as he leads an exploration of the ways we can remain deeply rooted in communion with the One whose ministry we have been called to share.
In addition to Bishop Griswold's presentation, the Conference will feature:
Meaningful worship inspired by the breadth and depth of the Episcopal tradition in this diocese
Time to hear from colleagues throughout the Diocese about the ways they are building for the kingdom of God
Opportunities to explore Cape May
Presentations from Byron Borger of Hearts and Minds Books, and
The return of the Clergy Conference Choir!
The Conference will begin with dinner on the evening of Monday, November 27th and conclude on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 29th. The fee for this year's conference is $185, which includes gratuity for the hotel staff. Scholarships are available upon request. Lodging is free for spouses and partners, and an optional meal plan will be available for spouses and partners. Childcare is available. Please let us know if you are interested in programming for children.
