Sara Mullins
Saginaw HS English Teacher
Recipient of the Stanford University Teacher Tribute Award
Saginaw HS English teacher Sara Mullins was recognized in
Stanford University's Teacher Tribute Initiative after being nominated by former student, Avalon Wolfe. Wolfe was in Mullin's AP Literature class, and was also the Class of 2017 Salutatorian.
The award is part of a recognition program asking the members of the incoming Stanford freshman class to recognize former teachers and professors who played a significant role in the student's intellectual, academic, social and personal development.
"Mrs. Mullins pours every fiber of her being into her work with a sense of enthusiasm and sincerity," Wolfe said. "She is determined to engage her students in discussing novel and contentious issues, which helped my peers and me mold our views and master proper discourse. From her willingness to aid in matters beyond English to her incredible insight that never failed to dumbfound me, Mrs. Mullins has pushed my academic capabilities to an unforeseen level, and I am profoundly thankful for her role in my life."
Congratulations Sara, we are #emsproud!
