CCISD: Snapshots is a weekly photo newsletter that highlights events, activities and happenings across the District. Anyone can submit a photo. Just remember the following:
CCISD policy and procedures require all students to have the proper CCISD photo release to appear in CCISD publications
Not all photos submitted can or will be used in Snapshots.The Office of Communications has final photo approval

HONORING OUR VETERANS
Clear Creek ISD honored those who serve, or have served, our country through military service during football games at both Challenger Columbia Stadium and Veterans Memorial Stadium. At the Salute to Military Service game at Challenger Columbia, about 60 wounded and recovering soldiers were honored on the field with the help from the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund. Halftime featured a patriotic arrangement performed by theClear Lake High SchoolandClear Springs High Schoolbands, a special video tribute to several CCISD staff members who have served, as well as a spotlight on the District's JROTC instructors. An All-Veteran Parachute Team landed at the 50-yard line to close out the military salute.
Schools across Clear Creek ISD also held various celebrations last week to show their appreciation for our veterans. Staff and family members were honored during assemblies as students learned about the history and sacrifices that these individuals made for our country.
The halls of Clear Falls High School were packed with students from across the district attending the 2016 CCISD College and Career Fair. They were able to explore a variety of career areas and meet with representatives from more than 120 colleges across the country. CCISD is happy to give students the resources to start planning for their future college and career goals!
Campuses across Clear Creek ISD held special events and themed-days during Generation Texas Week. This week focuses on getting students, especially those in middle school and high school, thinking about their future with a range of actions and next steps that they can take toward college and career readiness.
McWhirter Elementary held a special assembly for students to meet representatives from the University of Houston. Nick Thurman, football player, Edward Jones II, director of high school relations and player development, and Celena Flores, special events coordinator for athletics, talked about the importance of being good citizens and encouraged students to continue to do well in school so that they can follow their college and career goals in the future.
Congratulations to the high school seniors across all five comprehensive CCISD high schools who signed their letters of intent to continue their athletic and academic careers at colleges across the United States!
Hosted by Communities in Schools-Bay Area, the Brookside Intermediate Career Fair welcomed 500 seventh and eighth graders who spent the morning learning about a variety of careers, including those in the medical, business, engineering, law enforcement and trade fields. The event featured 25 presenters, including Reid Ryan, president of the Houston Astros, and eight parents of Brookside students. Representatives from Brookside's feeder high schools, Clear Brook High School and Clear Springs High School, as well as San Jacinto College were also there to answer questions about higher education.
BROOK & SPRINGS FFA HEADING TO AREA
A record 18 Future Farmers of America (FFA) students from Clear Brook High School who competed in the District 6 FFA contest advanced to the area competition. Three students from Clear Springs High School advanced as well. Good luck students!
Despite having to perform in the rain, the eighth grade production class from Space Center Intermediate won first place at the Texas Renaissance Festival One Act Play competition.
The Nassau Bay Garden Club made a $200 donation to the fourth and fifth graders in the Junior Master Gardeners Club at Robinson Elementary. The donation will go towards the school's garden that the students are responsible for keeping up with and new plants.
Sixth grade students in beginner band at League City Intermediate taught their parents how to play the instruments they have been learning about during their Teach the Parent to Play Night. This is a fun way for students to show off the skills they have mastered thus far.
LAKE ROWING
Row2Nine, a Clear Lake High School rowing club, participated in the Head of the Colorado Regatta in Austin recently. After just four weeks of training, the students were able to place eighth in the Women's Novice 4+ division.
