  WPI Celebrates 30 Years!

WPI has been a leader in assisting Wisconsin businesses to bring more Federal dollars to the State of Wisconsin. WPI opened its doors in 1987 as the Aspin Procurement Institute under the leadership of then Congressman Les Aspin (WI-01). The initial mission focused on helping Wisconsin's businesses obtain defense contracts. Over the years, WPI has expanded their services to also include businesses seeking assistance with local, state and federal contracts. 30 years ago, most of the Federal contracts to the State were for manufacturing from the Department of Defense. Today those dollars are broadly diversified to include engineering and environmental services, medical services and equipment, loan services, technology and construction.

Each year WPI serves over 1,200 business and organizations throughout the State and provides training at over 80 events and conferences each year.

Join TAPCO on October 19th in celebrating 30 years of service to Wisconsin businesses. The program will begin at 11:00 followed by luncheon and speakers. Hear from speakers including, William Hughes, Partner Husch Blackwell and WPI Board Chairman and Mark Wagner, Vice President of Government Relations, Johnson Controls Inc. Registration is available at https://www.wispro.org/events/wisconsin-procurement-institute-30th-anniversary-luncheon/

How much does a question cost?

Thanks to a new online resource from the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE), you can get the answer. CIGIE's  Oversight.gov is a new one-stop shop that brings together the work of 73 federal IG offices, offering stakeholders - and fellow federal auditors - the opportunity to see real-time inspector general reports and recommendations.

Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contract Program NAICS Code Updates

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is updating the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes authorized for use in the Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contract Program (WOSB Program). The update is being made to reflect the U.S. Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) NAICS revision for 2017, identified as NAICS 2017. NAICS 2017 created 21 new industries by reclassifying, combining, or splitting 29 NAICS 2012 industry codes. These changes would impact eight (8) of the 2012 NAICS codes designated for use under the WOSB Program.
