President's Message
Happy Fall!
I hope you all had a relaxing summer and are having an enjoyable fall.
With the fall, comes a number of conferences including the
ACVS Surgery Summit,
American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association's Annual Conference,
Healing Oasis Convention, and the
Pain in Animals Workshop, to name a few. Hopefully you will have the chance to attend one of the CE opportunities as they each have fantastic lectures scheduled.
There were several grant proposals submitted, which are currently being reviewed by the AARV Board of Directors. The grant recipients will be notified later this month and officially announced in the November newsletter, so stay tuned! Continued support of research projects is an important part of our mission. The more questions we ask and answer, the more we advance the field. If you have an idea for a project that pops into your head, be sure to write it down and submit a proposal next year. If you are unsure how to turn that idea into a study design, please feel free to reach out to myself,
Dr. Michelle Giuffrida, or any of the board members. We are here to help!
Nominations for the open BOD positions have been received, so be sure to vote! If you have an interest in becoming more involved, please feel free to reach out to any board member. Volunteering at the AARV booth or participating as a committee member is a great way to meet other members, become more active in the organization, and bring new ideas to the table!
Take care,
Cara Blake, DVM, DACVS-SA, CCRT
