Principal's Message

Dear parents,

Last week we had the absolute pleasure of adding four wonderful inductees to the  Loyola Hall  of Fame .  Sponsored and selected by our  SCHOLA Foundation , Hall of Fame members are recognized for their outstanding contrib ution t o the Loyola family and to the broader community.

Congratulations and welcome to 2017 inductees Jerry and Judy Reinbold, Patti Stierlen, and Sister Mary Kay Ash SSND. All four new members
are truly shining examples of generosity; giving their time and talents to Loyola. While I am only in my second year at Loyola Catholic School, it is v ery easy to see and evident how deserving they are. As a new employee to Loyola last year, Judy and Patti were so welcoming and #LoyolaProud; their excitement for our school was evident day in and day out. While I never got to see Jerry in action at LCS, his legacy and good work are a part of our continual conversations and will carry on for many years. Sister Mary Kay Ash's story and ongoing involvement with Loyola were wonderfully told at the banquet.  Her legacy will be remembered for many, many years.

Our 2018  SCHOLA Hall of Fame Ceremony will be next October 1.

We also plan to have the next Loyola Athletics and Activities Hall of Fame Ceremony in fall 2018. It has been several years since the last Athletics and Activities Hall of Fame Ceremony.
There seems to be some confusion as to how many Hall of Fame events we have, what they mean, and how people/groups are nominated and selected for membership.  We are aware of the confusion and assure you that our SCHOLA Board, our Board of Trustees, and our Academics and Activities Committee are all working together to bring clarity about our two Hall of Fame initiatives, and to ensure that they continue to be distinct and prestigious honors.

We are discussing the names of the two Hall of Fame initiatives to perhaps make it easier to distinguish between them. Stay tuned for more details.

We can be proud of Loyola's immensely prestigious history. It is my goal to ensure we continue to honor that history and the amazing people who have contributed to our wonderful story by sharing their time and talent with our school, our programs, and our community.

Have a blessed weekend!

Bring the World to Your Living Room- HOST FAMILIES NEEDED
Loyola Catholic School will welcome six students from Buenos Aires, Argentina for one month this winter, and we need Host Families! Students are 16 years old, currently attend Catholic School, and are eager to experience American culture and improve their English. Host Families provide room, board, and transportation to and from Loyola during their month-long stay, from January 8 - Februrary 9, 2018. A stipend is provided to the family to offset the cost of hosting expenses. This is a great opportunity to expand your world and be an ambassador for America! If interested in becoming a Host Family, contact Julienne Antes at 507-304-2143 or

LOYOLA AT THE MANKATO MARATHON
On Sunday Oct. 22 the Loyola Builder's and Key Clubs will host a cheer station for the Mankato Marathon.  This is an opportunity for Loyola students, families, alumni  and friends to show our support for the marathon runners.  The station will be in Sibley Park on the road in front of the barn and play area.  We encourage anyone/everyone to join us between the hours of 8:00 and 2:30.  Wear your Loyola Spirit wear and bring noise makers, musical instruments or anything you think of that will help motivate the runners! There is parking just before the arch by CHS. If you have any questions you may contact Sue Goebel: [email protected]
