WELCOME TO AKIBA 

We are so excited that more than 60 new students have joined the Akiba community for 2017-2018. We have 34 new students in the Early Childhood Program; 22  in Lower School; and eight in Middle School.

Congrats to Terri and Richard Rohan on the marriage of their daughter Emily Rohan '08 to Dovid Oratz.

PREPPED AND READY

Faculty embarked on a multi-day teacher training in preparation for the school year. Seminars focused on 21st century instructional methodologies, the history of Israel, arts in education and much more. 



A DRY RUN

Students were treated to a preview of school at orientation on Tuesday. They met their teachers and new classmates, and explored their classrooms. Susan Landry's 5th grade class is pictured below.

Uniform Swap
Thank you to those who brought uniforms to donate! There is a uniform swap set up in the hallway in front of Pollman Hall until Aug. 29. Come donate or swap! We just ask that you leave one for everything you take, or if you are new to the school, that you donate to the uniform swap in the future.
