Fidel Castro Dies at 90: Cuba's Developing Scenario
In a rapidly developing scenario, following the death of Fidel Castro (  http://wapo.st/2fxPVWR?tid=ss_mail ), the ILS remains committed to being the most accurate and balanced source for all international law issues related to Cuba.

The International Law Quarterly - Fall 2016 Special Cuba Edition, downloadable by clicking on the image, touches on several of these open issues.

Consider also joining the ILS 2017 Visit to Cuba, advertised below. The trip will provide a unique opportunity to gain an objective insight on the challenges and opportunities following the new course of US-Cuba relations.

The International Law Section 2017 Visit to Cuba, February 26 - March 1, 2017

Th e International Law Section and its Cuba Committee are delighted to invite you to join your fellow members of the Section in this exclusive opportunity to visit Cuba with a select group of international legal practitioners.  Working within the restrictions imposed on travel to Cuba, we have partnered with Cuba Cultural Travel - an organization with nearly 20 years' experience running U.S. government licensed tours to Cuba, and a group with which we have worked before.

We invite you and your guest(s) to join our private law-oriented delegation for an eye-opening journey at this most pivotal time in U.S.-Cuba relations.  Our specially designed program will explore Cuba's current and past legal systems, as well as its rich and varied cultural heritage by engaging with local legal scholars, attorneys, musicians and artists, who will offer in-depth commentary on the Cuban legal system, US-Cuba relations, human rights, developments in the burgeoning Cuban private sector, as well art, music, and  history.

Our 3 night/4 day private journey (space is limited) includes the following:
  • Accommodations at the 5 Star Hotel Parque Central, considered to be Havana's finest
  • Meals at Havana's best paladares (private, non-Government run restaurants)
  • Thought provoking lectures by renowned intellectuals, scholars and legal experts. NOTE: A select number of lectures may qualify for CLE credit, pending approval
  • Private performances and reception by prominent dance companies and musicians
  • Guided tours of Havana's fascinating neighborhoods including the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Habana Vieja
Click here for the program brochure and registration form. Full payment is due by December 1, 2016 to reserve your space on this trip.  Please note that the ILS' previous trip to Cuba sold out in a matter of days, so we urge that you confirm your participation right away.

NOTE:  Pricing for the trip does not include air fare as our delegation will be able to take advantage of the variety of new U.S. commercial airline routes to Havana, which have been significantly discounted in recent weeks.  However, please wait until you receive confirmation from Cuba Cultural Travel on or after December 1, 2016 to purchase any air fare.

Please contact Dani Perez ([email protected]) for any programming questions, extended tour options, or special requests.
