Skills Initiative Launches An initiative of the McKenzie County Job Development Authority, the McKenzie County Skills Initiative brings together the University of Mary, Williston State College, TrainND Northwest and the North Dakota Small Business Development Center at the Rough Rider Center to provide more workforce development and training opportunities for community members. Wall Street Journal Profiles Watford City WSJ reporter Erin Ailworth spent the better part of a week in the Bakken, including a day in Watford City for a story assignment. In addition to touring the city, seeing the oil industry first hand, she got a chance to meet many Bakken workers that were attending the free lunch at Home of Economy's Gator Party. Watford City Job Fair

On June 14, fifty employers met with eager job seekers at the first ever Watford City Job Service North Dakota Job Fair at the Rough Rider Center. Showcasing western hospitality Folks from throughout the region got to experience McKenzie County hospitality over the past month. Some of those visitors include the 2017 ND County Auditors & Treasurers Association Convention; North Dakota Cattlewomen State Convention and the North Dakota Stockman's Association District Spring Roundup. The Rough Rider Center and our many hotel and restaurant options are continuing to help us welcome folks from near and far!
