Church Directory Registration Continues
Photography Session sign ups for the new church directory are now open! We have 67 families signed up so far! Awesome progress but we still need many more families to register. Please visit the sign-up table for more information! To avoid registration over-lap, online registrations will be closed for the weekend. However, online registration will re-open each Monday before the event. Click the picture below to sign-up online!

We need lots of volunteers to make our directory a success. Beginning this week, we need 2-3 volunteers to serve on the Directory Committee and help coordinate the event. If you are interested in helping with this initiative, please fill out a form from the lobby and drop it in the office mail slot or email the Parish Manager Amy Shank to set up a committee meeting with our LifeTouch representative.

Jr. GOYA Update By: Jackie Karamanos
Our GOYANS held their first gathering on, Sept 17. They enjoyed each other's company while crafting over 2 dozen cards for the charity, "Cards for Hospitalized Children".

As the name indicates, these cards will be distributed throughout the country to children who are hospitalized.

Our next activity and meeting will be held on  Sunday, October 22  following the Oxi Day celebration.  We will be raking leaves around our church grounds and discussing our November fellowship activity as well as our Christmas charity project. Please bring a change of clothes and a rake!
Fall Clean Up Day By: Michael Karagoulis
This fall for cleanup day we should focus on several outdoor and indoor tasks:

  1. Leaves & Pine Cones
  2. Tree pruning
  3. Removing the 2 prune trees at the entrance that are dying
  4. Bush and ornamental grass trimming
  5. Nave (sanctuary) cleaning and minor repairs
  6. Basement clean & sweep
  7. Shed clean & sweep
  8. Cleaning dead bugs out of interior light fixtures

The list will morph a bit as the date approaches. Saturday, November 11th, 2017 from 9am to 1pm . There is no signup sheet. We just do as much as we can with the adults and kids who come. All are welcome. It is always a good time, and very satisfying to work together on God's house. It is highly appropriate that we participate in this sacrifice of time at the start of the Advent season.
Introducing Single-Stream Recycling
Holy Trinity is going GREEN! In the back next to our granger, you’ll notice a green recycling bin. We now have weekly service with CART that will collect paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, and tin each week on Wednesday. No styrofoam (Please use the blue bin in the social hall for this item) or plastic bags.

Yellow Barrel Items
The Yellow Barrel in the lobby is now accepting your donations of NEW PILLOWS for the use of the Lansing City Rescue Mission , as they minister to the needs of our neighbors.
Philoptochos News By: Elaine Christofilis
The Philoptochos Society held their annual fall general meeting on Thursday, September 28th at the Delhi Cafe, we had 36 ladies in attendance. The main order of business was the upcoming bake sale. The meeting not only included business we also had a chance to catch up with our fellow members and share a nice night out.

The Athenian Luncheon and Bake Sale will take place on  Thursday, November 9th from 10am to 2pm . Everyone's help is welcome, you don't need to be a Philoptochos member to help out. We will be baking our pastries this year using Holy Trinity's original recipes.

Mark your calendars and come help make this year's bake sale a success!

Godparents Sunday By: Dana Gavrilides
It is a deep seated tradition in the Orthodox Christian faith to celebrate the bond between Godparents and Godchildren.

This Sunday, October 15th we are celebrating Godparents day. We encourage you to invite your Godchildren to sit with you during liturgy and take communion together.

Afterwards, join us in the social hall for coffee and snacks.

This celebration is for the entire parish.
Sunday School News By: Mary Brown
October is Youth Month. Each Sunday our young people read the Epistle, greet parishioners, take the collection and clean the candle stands and icons (a different Sunday school class serves each week). In addition, this year the students are planting bulbs in the flower beds to beautify our church grounds.
The schedule for their service is as follows:

October 15 - Grades 1-3 Class
October 22 - Grades 4-6 Class
Reminder to Parents in the Nursery
Please remember to pick up the toys and place them in the bins located in the closet so that our cleaning staff can properly vacuum and clean this area on Mondays.
Reminder to Church Group Leaders
Please draft announcements and submit them to office@holytrinity-lansing.org prior to Thursday of each week in order to be added to our print & email bulletins.
Reminder to those who use the Kitchen
We recently had the kitchen detail cleaned from top to bottom including re-painting the floor. Please be careful when moving items over the floor and remember to wash, dry, and PUT AWAY all items used in the kitchen and leave the kitchen nice and clean for the next users. Also, please remember to remove or dispose of leftover food from the refrigerators before it expires.
