Greetings OMS!

What a wonderful holiday! I was fortunate enough to be able to spend Thanksgiving on the family farm in Missouri. I am thankful for my family and for the involvement and support of the entire OMS community. Please travel safely as you head home from your holiday. The end of the nine weeks is quickly approaching and I am certain we will finish as we started- STRONG!

Cardinal R.E.D. - This Week's Faculty Highlight
Faculty/Staff Member: Nadine Joseph (8th Reading)

"I nominate Ms. Nadine Joseph, an outstanding 8th grade reading teacher. I have never seen her without a smile. Being a first year teacher can sometimes seem overwhelming, but she approaches every challenge as a new experience and finds a way to always maintain a positive attitude. She is dedicated and stays late many nights, and she works closely with other teachers, offering support and welcoming feedback. She's truly an asset to our reading team and to Ocoee Middle School. Her enthusiasm for teaching is contagious; the students enjoy her class because she is so genuinely interested in them. Thanks for all you do Ms. Joseph."
~ Nominated by: Shelley Gray (6-8 DLA/Reading)

About the Cardinal R.E.D. program:

The focus of OMS for the 2016-2017 school year centers on being Cardinal R.E.D.

R
elationships, E fficiency and D riving in Degrees

It began the first week of school by Principal Davis nominating a teacher who he felt exemplified that focus especially well that week, and it continues each week by the previous week's nominated teacher nominating a colleague who they feel is following through with our mission of being Cardinal R.E.D.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

A huge thank you to the OMS SAFE Coordinator, Mrs. Denise Reed, and our very own OMS students for another successful Thanksgiving Food Drive this school year. A special thank you to Ms. Stynes' classes, Ms. Hinkle and Ms. Amendola's AVID classes, and the OMS Student Council for donating the majority of the food to help the Ocoee community's families in need. We are so thankful for the giving spirit of the OMS students and staff and we love our Ocoee community!
