Welcome to The Family!

Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr., Mrs. Tiffany, and the Memorial Tabernacle Family welcome you to the family.  We invite you to become a member of a family of believers God is using to "reach to teach, teach to change" one person and one block at a time.   We pray you will choose to attend the reunion to receive the love God has given us to give to you specifically!   #Galatians610  #HarvestTime  #HolySpiritRestatMTC

Our Mission...
The Memorial Tabernacle Church has come together by the Holy Spirit for the specific purpose of preaching and teaching the word of God, (the Bible), and about Jesus Christ, God's son, and to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom of God to the North Oakland Community and its environs; to bring healing to the brokenhearted and deliverance to the oppressed.

Our Bulletin...
Everything we do and desire to do we aim to reflect in our monthly bulletin and on our monthly calendar which is updated as needed. It is very important that you download, save, and read the bulletin and stay connected with our online calendar.  If it is happening at MTC, it is in the bulletin and/or on the calendar.  Be encouraged as you are invited and welcome to engage at Memorial Tabernacle Church!
Notes From Sunday's Sermon
"CHOOSING TO BE THANKFUL" ( Psalm 34:1

Being thankful is a Christian grace that we ought to be growing in. Being thankful is a definite attitude. It is a choice we make. We can both be thankful and express gratitude for the rich blessings of God, or we can gripe, murmur, and complain about our circumstances. The choice is ours.

Being thankful is independent of circumstances but not independent of choice. We can choose  to thankful or not. Ps 34:1 says, "I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth." David makes a deliberate choice to praise the Lord. We can and should make a deliberate choice to move from Grumbling Alley to Thanksgiving Place.

Being thankful is commanded in the Word of God. It is not optional! It is not optional but mandatory. It is an individual assignment. "I will . . ." No one is commanded to do this except me. It's personal. It is an imperative assignment. David said, "I WILL . . ." It's an ongoing assignment. " . . . at all times."

Thanksgiving or its absence distinguishes and defines. Christians should be characterized by thanksgiving. How beautiful is the grace of gratitude! Thanksgiving should adorn the life of every child of God as it did Jesus. Ps 33:1 says, "Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous: for praise is comely for the upright." Praise is suitable for the righteous.

Being thankful should be an activity that all the redeemed of the Lord participate in daily. The way to be an unhappy Christian is to be unthankful Christian. An unthankful Christian will soon be a defeated Christian.-- USK

Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr.

They Say October is Clergy Appreciation Month

It's not suits, ties, shoes, money, gifts or material things that I look for from members, friends, and well-wishers during Clergy Appreciation Month. These things are nice in their time and place. However, if you really want to show your Pastor and Elders how much you appreciate him or her, come to church (on time), bring someone with you, and lead someone to Jesus Christ! This will truly bring a smile on his or her face. But more impo rtantly, the Lord will be well pleased.

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service" (Romans 12:1).

Thank you for your love and support during this year. - Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr.
