CHANGE
By Deborah Taylor
ASAP Coordinator
2016-17 for one of the
After School for All Partnership (ASAP) sites can be characterized by one word -
CHANGE. The year began with the dismissal of the site manager, a relocation of their gathering room, and a new end of the school day dismissal location (the cafeteria) and the resulting modification to dinner and homework time.

24:1 Early Learning Childhood Center
Our friends at the 24:1 Early Childhood Learning Center were curious as to why Jack and Jill fell down the hill, so they tested a couple of theories. Maybe the hill was slippery or the pail was too heavy? They decided it would be easy to come tumbling down with such a heavy load. To find how to include engaging learning activities like this in your curriculum, contact the Programs Achieving Quality Program here.

World's Teacher Day
World's Teacher Day, also known as International Teachers Day, was held on October 5. Since 1994, this important date commemorates the anniversary of the signing of the 1966 UNESCO/ILO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers. The 1966 Recommendation constitutes the main reference framework for addressing teachers' rights and responsibilities on a global scale. World's Teacher Day is now observed in more than 100 countries.
Thank you to all of you who teach our children everyday including our 24:1 Early Childhood Learning Center Teachers Muzhda Siddiqui, Brittney Wilson and Shanika McGee.
