The Wave
October 13, 2017
We have just completed the Fall Conferences with our families! We have shared the information between all of us. We are grateful to the entire community for joining with us to share the successes and goals, the transition into this new year and sharing our hope for our successful future! This is what it takes to make a very impactful community. Each and every one of us here at TRCS care so much that you took the time to come and share your thoughts.  Please don't think that this is the only time. All you need to do is email the entire group of [email protected] or email/call and set an appointment with any teacher in the coming future. We have also set up a survey and we sure would appreciate a moment of your time to share your conference experience with us. We value your feedback, so please click here to share your thoughts! We look forward to hearing from you.

Today, you will be receiving an email with a invitation link to join Chalk (assessment platform). On top of all of that, we are launching a new website. It brings us to a much easier interface, options for the future and a fresh look at TRCS. We welcome you to visit the website here: www.3rcs.org in the coming weeks. We will be transitioning over to its full usage in stages. Thank you all for keeping up with us as we move forward into the future!

Our best to all!

~ Katherine

School Report Card
Oregon Department of Education has released the school report cards for the 2016-17 school year. View ours here. Like last year, schools did not receive an overall rating on their report card due to the state's plans to redesign the report card. Next year, ODE will release a redesigned report card. Our test scores reflect a strong academic core in our curriculum and the high attendance score demonstrates a strong commitment of our families for getting students to school to learn! Thank you parents - we make a great team!
Chalk.com
Parents - we are ready for you to access your chalk accounts! The access codes have been mailed to each family's home address and the email invitation is set to launch today. The steps to get set up involve both the access code and that email invitation. Follow the link in the email and enter the access code as requested. You will then be able to set up your profile account, which will be attached to your students' chalk accounts.
School Pictures
Due to an overwhelming number of requests, Nancy Steele has graciously agreed to reopen the ordering for school pictures. If you missed the order deadline the last time, now is the time to order your photos! Click here to connect to Nancy's website to order. Orders will be open for one more week, so don't delay, as this will be the final opportunity to order for the school year! The password is TRCS and you will need to enter your own email as well.
Community Service
Each year, we volunteer at various community service agencies throughout the Portland area. We are preparing to begin this program for the 2017-18 school year. We will be helping out at some agencies that we have helped in the past, as well as some new ones! We are scheduling students to volunteer at Blanchet House, Clackamas Bookshelf, NW Children's Outreach, Northeast Emergency Food Program, Oregon Food Bank, Community Transitional School  and more! Parents will be notified when students are invited to attend an outing during the school day.
Google Classroom
An important tool our teachers use across the grade levels is Google Classroom. This helps teachers communicate out project guidelines, study guides, assignments, and other classwork. Teachers will not post ALL assignments, but resources may be linked that can help a student complete an assignment. If parents wish, they can log into student's Google Classrooms to see what is going in the actual physical classroom. Just use the credentials in your student's planner to log in to Google and search for "Google Classroom".
Treasure Island Coming
Missoula Children's Theatre is coming back to West Linn, November 27th through December 2nd to present "Treasure Island." Participants from Bolton, Cedaroak, Rosemont, Three Rivers and Trillium will audition, rehearse, and then perform the Treasure Island play (complete with stage make-up and costumes) all within 6 days! Students from K-8th grade are invited to register. No experience is needed. Please stay tuned for registration and information, coming in late October. Space is limited and registrations are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.  (Only registered students will receive an invitation to the audition).
Lunch Program
Orders for November are due on Wednesday, 10/18! See the  menu and order form and get your order in now!
WE NEED TO HAVE A STRONG SHOWING or we will not be able to offer this option to our students and teachers. They have a minimum of 30 orders per date. This means that if you want to have this option continue, we need to increase the orders.  They are willing to work with us for one more month. We hope that you will try this lunch option!
Book Fair is Live!
This book fair is completely online with Children's Bookstore from today until October 23, 2017.  It's easy to participate! Just visit the online fair. Shop for the books you can't wait to read, every book on the website is eligible for our book fair. All orders can be shipped directly to your home. TRCS will earn 30% of every book purchase!
