This week's adventures...
We have had a great four-day week that concluded today, as our school celebrated the 100
th
Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima! Students in grades 4 through 8 were bused to Bishop Connolly High School for a very special Mass with Bishop da Cunha. These students, along with students from the entire diocese, participated in a procession (complete with traditional white hankies), prayed the rosary, and took part in a beautiful statue dedication. This diocesan wide event was an incredibly powerful and wonderfully executed demonstration of the love we have for Our Blessed Mother. A special thanks to all of our students and families who donated a dollar towards the purchase of the beautiful, brand new Our Lady of Fatima statue that was placed on the campus of Bishop Connolly today. The collaborative generosity of many people throughout the diocese made it possible to extend this gift to Mary from our entire diocese. Our students should feel a sense of pride knowing that they contributed to such an amazing gift! Our Small Wonders through Grade 3 students who remained here at the school today, also honored Our Blessed Mother by praying a rosary together and learning a bit more about the three shepherd children that Mary appeared to a hundred years ago in Portugal.
This week’s weather went from eighty to chilly rather quickly, so please take the time this weekend to make certain that our student have proper outer gear for the fall and winter weather! Weekly walks to Mass will take place for as long as the weather permits. Time to start to bundle up a bit!
Finally, I thank you in advance for the amount of patience and understanding that will be necessary for us to maintain, as Main Street will be under construction next week. Please read more details below regarding this project that will definitively effect our traffic flow!
Have a great weekend and God bless-
~Mrs. Russo
