Included for the first time on the May report is the Breakeven Point for oil production. McKenzie County's breakeven point is $21 per barrel for the first quarter of 2017. This is the lowest among the four core oil producing counties in North Dakota as revealed in the May 12, 2017 Directors Cut from ND Department of Mineral Resources Director Lynn Helms.

Around our Region
Williston Basin International Airport The first dirt for the construction project began moving on April 21. Once completed, this new airport will allow for the possibility of larger aircraft and more carriers to serve our area. Most McKenzie County residents can drive there within one hour. Set to open in 2018/2019.
Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Recently passed: Senate Bill 2003, which provides funds to begin construction of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in Dickinson next year. Most McKenzie County residents can drive there within ninety minutes. Set to open in 2019.

Shows ND is ranked #2 in the nation for Crude Oil Production and #6 in the nation for total energy production. Watford City and McKenzie County play a big role in those numbers.
