Dear WBJC Member
Thanks to you, our dedicated members, WBJC has closed out Fiscal Year 16 in the black! It is immensely gratifying to know that classical music fans value what WBJC brings to their lives. And we're so very thankful, because classical music is as important to us as it is to you!
Now that we've started out FY17 on solid ground, we look forward to bringing you more of what you love.... Great music! In order to do that, we need to make sure that all of the things that go into running the radio station are up to snuff.
Thanks to you, we are able to upgrade our computers (Some of which were over 10 years old!) While we liked Windows XP, it had reached the end of its support life and it had to go.
We are also upgrading our Membership database! You might not hear the difference on the air, but it will help our 2-person membership department with meeting member needs more efficiently. The new database will also give us the ability to use email for more of our correspondence, cutting down on our paper and mailing costs. Eventually, we will be using computers in Pledge Central, reducing processing errors and delays.
And speaking of things to look forward to... Jonathan has plans to re-air the Music in Maryland series celebrating the BSO's 100 year anniversary soon! Keep an eye on next month's e-newsletter for more details. If you missed it the first time around, you're in for a real treat!

From July 22-24, scooter enthusiasts will meet at various locations in Baltimore to check out one another’s bikes, listen to music, meet like-minded folks, and oh, yes, ride!
There hasn’t been a scooter rally in Charm City for a few years, so fans of two-wheeled transit have good reason to be excited about this event. It’s called Big Trouble in Little Baltimore, and Dyana recently met up with organizer Michael Beck for a chat.

Getting a new car? “Don’t trade it, donate it!”
Before you head to the dealer, plan on donating your older vehicle to WBJC. Usually the value you'll receive for your donation will meet or exceed what the dealer will offer you as a trade-in and is fully tax-deductible.

Baltimore’s Young Victorian Theatre Company presents Iolanthe beginning Saturday, July 16th, with five performances running through Sunday, July 24th at the Sinex Theater.
Welcome to Arcadia, where the popular fairy Iolanthe returns from banishment to her fairy sisters. Her half-fairy son Strephon has his eye on Phyllis, a beautiful mortal, but a misunderstanding leads Phyllis to reject him. The rebuff sparks a full-scale fairy uprising. The fairy Queen decrees Strephon to enter Parliament where his political changes blanche the establishment and create political pandemonium.
The Sinex Theater is located in the Macfarlane Arts Center on the campus of the Roland Park Country School, 5204 Roland Avenue, in the Roland Park section of Baltimore.
