Philadelphia Stand Down is a non-profit volunteer organization formed to provide assistance to homeless veterans. Veterans Helping Veterans, a Hand up Not a Hand Out.

Serving veterans from the five counties in the Delaware Valley since 1994, their goal has been to bring these veterans to a central location where a myriad of services can be provided. With the help of various organizations including the Veterans Administration and Military and Civilian Service Organizations, Stand Down provide the veterans with resources to help them become self-sufficient and provide them with the necessary tools for continued success. Although their emphasis is on helping homeless veterans, any veteran needing assistance will be welcomed.

Over a three day weekend hundreds of participants are required to avail themselves of the services offered and in return they are provided with food, clothing and shelter. Stand Down's goal is to put themselves out of business by eliminating the existence of homelessness for veterans and their families.

Philadelphia Stand Down es una organización voluntaria fundada sin fines de lucro para proveer ayuda a veteranos sin hogar. Veteranos ayudando a veteranos, apoyándose uno al otro.

Desde el 1994, ha servido a veteranos de cinco condados del Valle de Delaware /  Delaware Valley , donde su meta ha sido el brindar a estos veteranos un lugar centralizado que pueda facilitar una infinidad de servicios. Con la ayuda de varias organizaciones, incluyendo la Administración de Veteranos y Militares, y otras organizaciones de servicios civiles,  Stand Down provee al veterano los recursos que le ayuden a convertirse en personas auto suficientes, proporcionándole las herramientas necesarias para continuar con éxito en la vida. Aunque su énfasis es el ayudar a los veteranos sin hogar, cualquier veterano en necesidad de ser atendido será bienvenido.

Durante un fin de semana de tres días, se les ha requerido a cientos de participantes a acogerse a los servicios y a cambio se les ha provisto de comida, ropa y albergue. La meta de  Stand Down es darse por completo de manera voluntaria, eliminado así la existencia de personas sin techo, de que veteranos y sus familias estén sin hogar.
