About HV's upcoming Annual Halloween Parade
(at the special Tuesday Flag Deck, 10/31):

At 8:20 on Halloween morning, HV students will sit with their teachers and classes in a big ring on the Lower Playground (with parents behind). Then, class by class, they'll parade in costume to applause, oh's and ah's, and parents grinning ear to ear. Student's costumes at HV MUST NOT BE SCARY = no weapons, no clowns, no scary masks!!! Follow  these guidelines set by Dr. Schmidt and bring comfortable clothes to change into after the Parade.

Tuesday, 10/31 will also be a special Early Out Dismissal ( 1:25PM).
There will NO SCHOOL Wednesday, 11/1.
Health at HV

To make you shiver like a scary Halloween: If you find lice in your child's hair please alert her/his teacher as soon as possible so HV's School Nurse can quickly check the entire class and avoid infestations! If you are embarrassed and would rather notify the school anonymously, leave a message on the School Attendance Line (949) 515-6812 to inform the Nurse which Grade Level needs warning. To prevent outbreaks at Harbor View, please tell your children not to share hats, hair brushes, combs, or pillows; to rethink 'Braid Chains'; and to avoid touching heads at school.
HV Community Art Project

HV Students and Staff will create a community art project, (next week) Monday, 10/23 - and parents will be welcome to join in ! The project is based on the children's book, Only One You by Linda Kranz, which Dr. Schmidt read over the Web two Sundays ago. Click here to RSVP - and to see the class painting schedule.
HV's Veterans' Day Assembly

Harbor View will  honor Veterans  at our annual  Veterans' Day Assembly November 8th  at 9AM in the MPR. Immediately following the assembly, the PFO will host a reception for Veterans in attendance. Please invite any family members or friends who have served our country in the military in any capacity. There will also be a  Remembrance Table  to honor beloved Veterans that are no longer with us. You may bring a picture or memento to display at the table for the assembly.  Please use  this form  to sign up - returning the form to your child's teacher (or the Front Office) by November 3rd.
