Amen	Study Hall Study hall will start after Labor Day on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school until 4pm. Study hall is open to students in 2nd - 8th grade for those students who may need additional help. This is not an alternative to EDP. Students must bring work to do. Office News Just a friendly reminder that if your child is not picked up from school by 3:15pm they will go to our Extended Day Program. Mary Poppins Auditions at the High School SJCES students, 3rd grade and older, interested in being in the musical Mary Poppins performed with SJCHS will audition from 3:30- 4:30 on Wednesday, 8/30, in the Black Box. No experience necessary. Elementary students will audition first. If there are students who need to audition later, we will run the auditions will run until 5:30pm. Students need to prepare a musical theatre song, one verse and one chorus will do. Please bring sheet music in the right key. Please no pre-recorded music. If students don't have anything prepared, we will teach them "Consider Yourself" from "Oliver" and let them sing that piece for us. Students who are being considered for Jane and Michael Banks will be asked to return on Thursday from 3:30-4:30 for callback auditions. Again, we will run the callbacks until 5:30. Students invited to callbacks do not need to prepare anything for Thursday. Parents must be on time to pick up their students no later than 4:30 pm (unless they need their student to audition in the 4:30-5:30. We appreciate your diligence in respecting our time. Parentsare not invited to watch the auditions. We will have a rehearsal and performance schedule available to all interested students and parents by next week to help them make decisions about the time commitment. There is a $50 fee for all participating SJCES students. That fee is due by November 1, 2017. Make checks payable to SJCHS with a memo line: Mary Poppins Fee. Parent Access Attached is a letter regarding our new grading system and how to access the "Parent Web." For those who need assistance there will be an instructional evening given on Aug 29 and 31 at 6pm. Parent Letter Boy Scouts at Holy Family Join us for the Cub Scout Pack 461 round up meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 6th at 6:30pm in the Social Hall at Holy Family. Free Tailgating SJCS students and families are invited to a free tailgating party with baseball game and volleyball game Tuesday, September 5. Free hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks will be available to all. Please join us on our campus as we cheer on our high school teams! Thank you to our great SJCHS Boosters! Baseball Game at 4:00pm - come after the game Tailgate at 5:00pm Volleyball Game JV- 4:30pm, Varsity- 6:00pm Go Jayhawks!! Lunch Reminders: Hot lunch orders from the menu do not include a drink. Your child can order milk for the whole year for $15 or buy it occasionally for $.10 a carton. Lunch bar has a variety of drinks available for purchase. If your child is making a purchase from lunch bar for their lunch please make sure they know to fill out a lunch bar slip. Lunch bar account balances will be sent on Fridays via email. Community Service SJCES Community outreach is is looking for volunteers to serve at Catholic Community Services in their food pantry on Sept 23 from 9am - 1pm. This project includes organizing the pantry and serving patrons. Children must be 8 years of age and all attenddants must be accompanied by a parent. Please email [email protected] to sign up for this amazing opportunity. Alter Serving Training Is your child in the 3rd grade or older and interested in being an alter server? Please have them join Fr. Joe for Alter Server Training on Monday, Aug 28 after school at 3:15 in the auditorium for approximately 45 minutes. Carpool Help A family is looking for help with a carpool in the Kaysville/Fruit Heights area in the afternoons for two students. They can drive in the mornings.
