Northwest ISD Back-to-School Fair Helps About 1,000 Students in Need
Northwest ISD's annual Back-to-School Fair, held last week in partnership with United Way of Denton County, provided school supplies and services to roughly 1,000 students in need, continuing the district's tradition of ensuring all students are ready for school.  Services provided included immunizations, sports physicals, haircuts and more.

Steele Accelerated High School's Shears of Steele salon provided more than 50 haircuts throughout the event, where the students and recent alumni provided the service.
Coordinated by Northwest ISD Partners in Education and United Way of Denton County, the Back-to-School Fair has provided district students with necessities for the start of school for the past five years.
Galderma Donates Supplies for 1,600 Students to NISD
Employees of Galderma, a Nestle skincare company based in Fort Worth, donated enough school supplies to ensure 1,600 NISD children in need are prepared for this school year. The backpacks filled with supplies were distributed at the fifth annual Northwest Back to School Fair.

"We are so appreciative to Galderma for its ongoing commitment to our students' success in the classroom and we look forward to continuing our partnership," Northwest ISD Superintendent Ryder Warren, Ed.D. said.

Linebarger, Goggan, Blair and Sampson, LLP have signed on as the presenting sponsors for the NEF Legends Golf Tournament again this year.  We thank them for their continued support and dedication to the Northwest ISD Education Foundation over the years.

The NEF Legends Golf Tournament is one of the foundation's biggest fundraisers of the year.  Through generous donations and sponsorships, this event allows NEF to fund many scholarships annually for NISD graduating seniors.  For more information on the tournament, or to get involved as a sponsor or volunteer, visit  www.nisdtx.org/nef.

NEF News
Northwest ISD is excited to announce a renewed partnership with the Northwest ISD Education Foundation.  You will notice some changes for the foundation, including a new logo and a new leader.  NISD Executive Director of Communications Emily Conklin is now the executive director for NEF too.  Alyssa Edstrom, a Northwest High School alumn, will soon be starting her new role as community relations specialist.  One thing that has not changed is the strong commitment that NEF has to funding innovative teaching grants and scholarships benefiting NISD educators and students.  With continued support from generous donors and local businesses, NEF will continue to enhance excellence in NISD, furthermore supporting the goal that all students are future-ready.
