First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers continue to be with all who have been affected by the North Bay firestorm. As the fires continue to spread, we have witnessed that smoke is in the air, less dense today than Wednesday. Therefore, Friday, October 13, school will be open with a minimum day dismissal. We will continue to closely monitor and communicate the changing conditions in the days ahead. In the meantime, we will proactively implement restrictions to ensure the safety of all our students. If you feel that it is in the best interest of your child's health to remain home, please let the office know. This would be an excused health/medical absence.
We are in communication with our alumni student, Miss Lindsey Hahn, who is a Catholic school teacher in Santa Rosa. St. Rose Elementary School sustained fire damage with their preschool facility completely lost. Also many of her students have lost their homes. Our school community will be working together to support them in their time of need - please stay tuned for more details to come.
Closing the school for the day has allowed us to practice our emergency communication to our families. We have several communication services in place: Constant Contact and School Messenger that allows for you to receive a text message, telephone call and an email. We also put the notification on social media. If you did not receive one or more notifications from the school in the last two days, please email Mrs. Roberts at [email protected] or contact the school office. If you receive a missed telephone call from Holy Rosary, please check your voice mail. In the event of an emergency, we must keep our school telephone lines clear and/or we may not be able to answer the telephone.
Join us for mass tomorrow at 8:45 a.m. Our fourth graders have prepared a lovely mass to celebrate our patron saint, St. Dominic.
