First 5 San Joaquin Celebrates National Breastfeeding Month!
The benefits of breastfeeding are well documented. They include bonding for babies and mothers, improved short- and long-term health outcomes, and economic benefits. Breastfeeding is also associated with reduced risks of diabetes, ovarian cancer, and certain types of breast cancer in mothers. Since 2008, First 5 San Joaquin has invested approximately $830,000 in the Breastfeeding Initiative. For more information on these efforts, click here.
