Blessing of the Animals
In early October, people all over the world celebrated the feast day of the Patron Saint of Animals, Saint Francis of Assisi. It's customary that in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi's love for all creatures, animals are led to churches for a special ceremony called the "Blessing of the Animals."

Blessed Sacrament School held our Blessing of the Animals last Friday morning. Families met on the front lawn with their beloved pets and Father Paul blessed dogs, cats, hamsters, bunnies, and even a reptile! It was a joyous event!

Thank you Stx Pix for our beautiful photos.

From the Principal's Desk
Dear BSS Families,

It was such an exciting time last Friday when your children were able to bring the family pets to school and get blessed by Father Paul. There were dogs, cats, hermit crabs, stuffed animals and Eleanor's (7th) bearded dragon lizard named Tumbleweed.  It is so wonderful that we give our students the opportunity to share their pets with all of us. Looks for an article in the Times-News either today or tomorrow on the Blessing of the Animals at BSS!

Mrs. Gomez
