This week we hosted a community update at the VBR. Representatives of the Vail Valley Foundation, Vail Valley Partnership, Vail Resorts and Eagle County Schools presented overviews and updates on their organizations' initiatives and goals. This is an annual session offering valuable information to help you develop and maintain your position as an expert on our community. In a couple weeks, we have another session presented by some of the mayors and managers from Eagle County. I encourage all of you to attend. We make it easy for you to attend a morning of learning followed by lunch. Local expertise is just one way top agents may differentiate themselves from their competition.
I'm working closely with NAR's Center for Realtor® Technology or CRT to develop the VBR office as a demo center for the "Internet of Things" more popularly known as home automation, but there is so much more to the topic than simply "automation". Over the coming months I will be writing articles on the use of technology in homes to reduce energy consumption, monitor and improve air quality and enhance security and comfort. As a starter here is a link to a Smart Home checklist and here is a one page guide to Smart Thermostats. I've worked with this technology for many years. Please send me your questions or suggestions for future topics. Lots more information at CRTlabs.org
On behalf of the staff and leadership of the VBR, we wish you a safe and joyous Thanksgiving.
Think Snow!
