It's a
GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION
as our newest merchant, Blonde Sugar & Honey, opens its doors to the community! Come check out their vintage furnishings and whimsical home decor. And from 4:30 - 6:30 pm, enjoy live Irish music as you shop their selection of hand-crafted treasures.
Swarthmore Ukulele Orchestra & Hobbs Coffee
121 Park Avenue, 7 pm
Fresh off their performance at Spruce Street Harbor Park in Philadelphia, the Swarthmore Ukulele Orchestra return to the Central Park amphitheater for a special Labor Day Weekend concert. Hobbs Coffee will be grilling their Good Boy Burgers starting around 6:30ish. SwUKEstra will take the stage at 7 pm. BYOB.

Thursday Night Live: Only 2 Shows Left
All good things must come to an end! Thursday Night Live, a summer concert series in Swarthmore's Central Park outdoor amphitheater will conclude in September. This free event includes live performances by local musicians. Concert attendees can pack a picnic dinner or grab take-out from one of many restaurants in town. Then sit back, relax, and enjoy a great night of live music under the stars! Remember...in case of rain, the show will go on at waR3house3.

Join us for the second half of
Worlds Greatest Paintings
from the
Great Courses
video lecture series. Thursdays from 10 am - 12 pm we delve into works of art that allow us to comprehend more deeply the world and our place within it. This program is made possible by a grant for Aging in Place Services from Swarthmore Borough. Refreshments will be provided.

Cookbook Club
Explore world cuisine during our "A Taste of the World" series of the Food
for Thought Cookbook Club.
The featured cookbook will be available for your perusal at the library.
You may sign-up to make a selected recipe or your choice from the
cookbook, then bring your cooked delicacies for sharing at our monthly
meeting. All meetings are 4-5 pm in the Community Room at Borough Hall.

A new session of youth programming starts on September 5 and runs until
October 13.
Brand new this session: Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead Club will feature hands on
science, technology, engineering, arts, and math experiences for children
ages 8-11.

Seed Swap
Start harvesting your seeds for our fall seed swap!
Step 1: Collect empty seed packets at the Library.
Step 2: Harvest seeds from your favorite plant(s) and drop them in the
packet(s).
Step 3: Turn in your seeds to the Library by October 13. Then stop by
anytime from October 23 to October 29 to choose your new seeds.
Step 4: Sow your new seeds in your garden in the spring to enjoy new blooms!

Saturdays in the Park: It's the Swarthmore Farmers Market!
Awarded "Best in Class" in 2016, the #1 Farmers Market in Pennsylvania occurs every Saturday from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm in Swarthmore's Central Park. In addition to beautifully-raised fresh produce, meats, and dairy from area farms, the market offers an array of locally-made specialty food items. The market is also your destination for live music, hand-crafted art, children's activities, and health and wellness activities for the whole family. For weekly updates, follow the

FREE Small Business Seminars
The Widener University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides one-on-one consulting services and a series of educational programs and seminars to new and existing businesses in southeastern Pennsylvania.
On September 12 from 9-11 am, the SBDC will offer a seminar on Marketing Plans.
This course will guide entrepreneurs to the right questions to ask about their market, provide tools to find the most valuable answers to those questions, and how to go forward in constructing a formal plan.
On September 26 from 9-11 am, a workshop on Financial Planning will be offered. This will guide entrepreneurs through the process of creating and understanding basic financial calculations. It will address how to make reliable projections of future revenue, expenses, and how they appear on financial statements.
These seminars are offered at no cost to participants.
