Our volunteers work assidulously to keep things humming at the Custom House. Above , top right, last Sunday, USCG cadets helped Roger and Leigh to put a lens, originally from Orient Point Light, in working, whirling, order.

Above, from left, new helper Jim, Rob Pittaway, and our Good-Samaritan-of-the-Year(!) Jim 'JD' Diaz stand before the large mirror from the steamship Stonington ca. 1880 (donated
last month by Connie and Phoebe Watrous) in the MUSEUM SHOP. In recent months, JD has donated lights that wash the museum facade, repaired & sealed our portico roof, replaced the front flagpole, and -- on Wednesday -- put up the mirror, cleaned the window over the front door, and donated & installed a storm window above the portico. That window can now  be opened from inside the museum! Thank you JD, once again.

New in the MUSEUM SHOP - above, copper cookie cutters!

What's Up at the Custom House  - November 27, 2016
NLMS -- nicely nautical.
We asked local businesses & individuals to join our SUPER 70...

And They Did.

We've reached our $7,000 goal!

Thank you to the SUPER 70 local businesses & individuals which donated from $100 to $1,000, each, to cover our artist/production fees for the December 2 Peter Yarrow concert.

Thank you, too, to NLMS trustee Morgan McGinley for leading this campaign.

And we again thank our
neighbor at Studio 33, Sara Munro, who just celebrated a major birthday. In lieu of gifts, Sara asked guests to donate to NLMS; they gave over $1,000!

You may still show your support for New London Maritime Society!
It is a terrific launch to this year's Annual Fund.  To donate, Email  or call Susan at 860-447-8700.

B elow,   a 2016 grant from the Frank Loomis Palmer Fund let us refinish the front doors (thank you Yankee Remodeler), replace 3 seriously deteriorated sidewalk-level coal doors (just being painted), and restore three lower-level windows - converting one to an emergency fire exit. This 2nd fire exit will allow us to safely use the lower level for public events.
