Dear St. John Paul II Community,
What an awesome beginning to the school year! We are so blessed to have all our students and families back on campus. In the spirit of this year’s school theme, “Celebrating our Community of Saints,” our campus community we are praying this prayer each day, and I invite you to make it part of your day as well:
“O God, open my ears to hear you and my heart to receive you. Let the saints be my guides to live a life that is pleasing to You.”
I truly believe in the power of prayer and am so excited about what the Lord has in store for our StJPII Saints this year.
For the most part, carpool has been running like clockwork. However, below are just a few reminders:
- MORNINGS - Carpool and walkers begin at 7:40 a.m., and students are considered tardy at 8:00. Students dropped off before 7:40 will be sent to Before and After School Care (BASP) and parents will be charged accordingly.
- AFTERNOONS - 3:00 p.m. is PreK/K dismissal (white tags), 3:15 is Elementary dismissal (green tags) and 3:30 is Middle School dismissal (orange tags). Middle School carpool drivers should wait for the green line to end (or 3:30, whichever is later) before pulling forward (i.e. do not merge colors).
- WALKERS – Thank you for loading your car and clearing the surrounding streets promptly.
With the neighboring HISD schools starting next week, we will need to continue to be extra-cautious for the safety of all the students in our neighborhood. This is a great and simple opportunity to model Saint-like behavior to our children and community.
We are blessed to offer many extracurricular activities/clubs, most of which will begin after the Labor Day holiday. Be sure to take a look at the programs listed below under "After School Clubs" and click on the links for more information.
In Him we trust,

All-School Mass this Friday
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Mass the first day of school! We will have our second All-School Mass of the school year this
Friday, August 25
at 8:30 a.m. in the Gutierrez Student Center (GSC). As a school community, we typically celebrate Mass on Fridays and on Holy Days. Here are just a few reminders about Mass days:
- Please remember that students are required to wear their full dress uniforms for Mass and sit with their class. Please refer to the Parent/Student Handbook to ensure your child is in compliance with the proper full dress code.
- At 8:30 a.m., the gym doors will be locked and parents and visitors will need to enter through the main building to go to Mass.
- On Mass days, our gym (BAC) and student center (GSC) become our church. Please enter reverently, refrain from bringing in drinks, and turn off your cell phones so that everyone may fully enjoy the gifts of this sacrament.
Optional, before school Mass will begin on Wednesday, September 13 at 7:10 a.m. in the All-Saints Chapel.
As a vital member of our school community, parents and friends are always welcome to worship with us.
