Company News
To all our readers, we wish you all a fantastic
Summer!
This has been a great month for us so far!
We have sold the book Dancing on Her Grave by Diana Montane and Carolina Sarassa to Berkley Books for publication in March 2015.
This extraordinarily, tragic, true crime book is about a beautiful, fiery young Latino woman, Deborah Flores, who had three college degrees and vanished on December 12th, 2010, from Las Vegas, where she was rehearsing as a showgirl dancer in the "Fantasy Show" at the Luxor Hotel. Her body was later found dismembered and in cement in an abandoned house. Her ex-boyfriend, another dancer, Jason "Blu" Griffith, was arrested and has been convicted for second degree murder and is currently serving a twenty year sentence.
The story of Deborah Flores will be featured on the Discovery Channel's Deadly Sins in February 2015 and we have also sold the rights to Lifetime Television, which will be producing a two hour television movie on the tragedy.

Guidelines for New Authors
For new authors, breaking into the publishing industry can be a very daunting task. We are here to help. Below you can find some guidelines that will take you from being a writer to a published author.
- Have a plan. If you're writing a non-fiction book, you need a book proposal plus three chapters, and if you're writing fiction, start off with an outline, for which you will need to do a lot of thinking and answering tough questions about your plot.
- Hire an editor. Once completed, every new writer needs an editor, no exceptions! It might take several edits before the book is ready to send to agents, but put in the effort and research the different types of editors available.
- Know your elevator pitch. This will be the foundation for which you market your book to agents, publishers, and most importantly, readers.
- Understand your publishing options. Commercial publishing isn't for everybody. Self-publishing might be a better option. Whatever you decide, remember, "content is king."
- Start marketing now. The marketing process should start at the beginning, not at the end. Build your platform with a website, blog, and other social media tools.
