Economics Students Learn About
Production Possibilities Curves
Mrs. Peacocks Economics classes are currently learning about Production Possibilities Curves (PPC). They are representing the PPC by seeing how many M&M's and cotton balls they can transfer in 1 minute, showing their production rates. They then used the results to further their exploration on Production Possibilities Curves.  Learning about comparative and absolute advantage! So we know how to determine gains from trade. Who can transfer the M&Ms and cotton balls faster? So who should do what job?

Counselors News
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM GOVERNOR NATHAN DEAL
CONCERNING MOVE ON WHEN READY:

In April 2015, I signed SB 132, which made changes to the state's dual enrollment program, termed "Move on When Ready."  We have seen great strides in participation in dual enrollment throughout Georgia.  The number of students served in the state's dual enrollment program has more than doubled since FY 2015.

Although participation in Georgia's dual enrollment program has grown exponentially, many families remain unfamiliar with how to get their children involved in the program.  Based on conversations with parents, high school students, and college students, we understand that the program may be misunderstood.

To ensure students are utilizing the program appropriately and simplify people's understanding of and navigation through the state's program, the state is changing the program name from "Move on When Ready" to "Dual Enrollment."  This change will make it clear to parents and students the opportunities this program affords and will benefit the state in helping to further increase participation in the program moving forward.

Attention Seniors
The FAFSA® is the application that students must complete to apply for federal student aid, which can be used to attend an eligible college or career school. Federal student aid includes Federal Pell Grants, federal student loans, and work-study opportunities. In addition to determining eligibility for federal student aid, many states, private organizations, colleges, and career schools rely on information from the FAFSA to determine eligibility for nonfederal sources of aid.

ALL students must complete this form regardless of parent income.  The 2018 FAFSA application will become available  October 1st .
