Closing of the
Palms Playhouse
KVMR presents - a screening of the film by Alvin Remmers, " Closing the Palms Playhouse" - a cautionary tale about a community that let an important cultural heritage slip away and a celebration of the place and its people that improbably became a must-stop venue for world-class Americana and folk musicians.

City Folk - LIVE!

Duck's Breath
Mystery Theatre
Known for their screwball humor on NPR's "All Things Considered" in the '80s and '90s and on KVMR as well.

They made their final stage appearance together at the Palms and Berkeley's Freight and Salvage in 2015. This "duckumentary" shows the troupe's 40th anniversary Grand Finale, with members commenting on their sketches and humor, plus clips of earlier performances. Art Show and Randee of the Redwoods (MTV) are not to be missed, and you may already know mile-a-minute sneer artist Ian Shoales and Dr. Science. Hey, all of it shouldn't be missed. Besides, their longtime manager is KVMR Program Director Steve Baker.

Did we mention this is a benefit screening for KVMR?
