Little free library in
Traverse City, Michigan
Toooo cute!
|
After the last e-news we received two offers for free library sites. Thank you Lester Street residents! They are within one block of each other.
And we received an offer to steward the library - maintain it with books and oversight.
Next steps
1) Get approval for funding from Jefferson Park Assn or Friends of Jefferson Park, Inc.;
2) Visit the sites and property owners
3) Devise a construction plan;
4) Marshal the construction crew;
5) Build it and they will come!
A very sturdy concrete bench would be nice...anyone got one? Is there carpenter expertise available? Many Little Free Libraries begin as a sturdy antique cabinet with glass front doors. Anyone have one in their garage?
Have fun, look at little free libraries over the world

Tucson Heritage Park and Health Trail
Announcement has been Delayed
|
The National Park Service has delayed the announcement for The Tucon Heritage Park and Health Trail .
The city of Tucson will be apprised first of the decision, and our neighborhood will be then contacted about the decision.
The proposed greenway trail would extend from Park Avenue to Santa Rita. It would hook up with a proposed Jefferson Park bike Loop from Grant to Lester, Lester to Campbell,then west back to Mountain or Park.
We wait for word....
not so patiently!

From: Officer Kara Curtis
I just wanted to send out a reminder for you and your neighbors regarding online reporting:
If you are the victim of crime that occurred within our city limits, you can complete and submit your initial
crime report online.
To check if the incident location falls within the city limits, please check the map at --
To report the crime online, please go to --
An online report does get counted in our crime statistics and is no different than a report taken by an Officer.
There are certain reports that you do not want to make online. Those reports include stolen vehicles, license plates, firearms or burglaries. Please remember you can always contact me if you have a question regarding online reporting.
Thank you, Kara Curtis Community Service Officer, Tucson Police Department Operations Division Midtown, 1100 S. Alvernon
