New Days and Hours of Operation at CTK
|
|
It's back-to-school season here at Clothes To Kids! That means lots of student shoppers, more clothing donations and an increased number of volunteer shifts.
To meet the need, Clothes To Kids is increasing its days and hours of operation!
A Clothes To Kids staff member will be on site to receive clothing and shoe donations:
- 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays
- 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Fridays
- 9:00 am - 4:00 pm EVERY Saturday
Extending our hours means that we have LOTS of new volunteer shifts available for both adults and youth. We especially need help:
- Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays in the afternoon
- Saturdays between 9:00 am & 3:00 pm
Questions? Please visit our
Volunteer Page
to access our volunteer applications and sign up for shifts.
**Student shopping is still by appointment only.
Please call 720-379-4630, ext. 2 for an appointment.

Highlights from our Corporate Partners
|
|
Longtime supporter
Eric Cantor
has raised more than $3,600 (and counting!) in support of Clothes To Kids by taking part in the
Prudential RideLondon
bike race. This gift will be matched 2:1 by his generous company,
Jackson
, a Gold Sponsor of this year's Blue Jean Bash.

|
This wonderful crew from
United Airlines
volunteered their time sorting, restocking and assisting shoppers last month. This year, United also surprised Clothes To Kids with a $1,500 volunteer service grant and donated a flight simulator experience for the Blue Jean Bash live auction. Thank you for the many ways you support the Clothes To Kids mission!

This incredible team from
CarMax
in Littleton
spent a day volunteering in our boutique, collected 250+ pairs of new underwear and socks for our Undie 500 and gave a generous $2,000 grant from their foundation. Wow!
|
|
After an inspiring KSE Day of Service at the Clothes To Kids boutique and donation center, our friends at
Kroenke Sports Charities
donated an entire carload of brand new
Denver Nuggets
jerseys, pants, sweats, socks and shorts. Our "big and tall" shoppers will have a great selection to choose from for months to come and we so appreciate this amazing new partnership.

|
Next Day Valet
held their 4th annual back-to-school clothing drive. Owners
Marsha and Allan Walts
advertise the drive to their dry-cleaning customers, then personally pick up and professionally clean each piece. This year, they collected more than 1,500 items, plus 200 pairs of new underwear and socks!
|
|
Last, but not least,
Rebel
clothing store in Greenwood Village offered substantial discounts to their customers in exchange for donations from our list of
Greatest Needs
. Their customers responded generously, giving hundreds of pairs of new socks and underwear and many bags of beautiful clothing. Thank you Rebel for sharing our mission with your customers!

A Fond Farewell to Doria and Robin...
|
|
Doria Barajas
(left), who started at Clothes To Kids in February 2014, quickly became the "face" of our operation in the community by serving as the first point of contact for clients setting appointments and checking in to shop. Later, her outreach efforts and in-person visits to schools and agencies connected
thousands
of students in need with school clothing and helped us serve u
p to 43% more kids each year. Doria also will be remembered for her creativity, artistic talent and her thoughtful, hand-made gifts for volunteers.
Robin Rose
(right), who joined Clothes To Kids in September 2013, has worked steadily to design, implement and continuously improve systems for processing donations to ensure the best possible selection for our students. Under Robin's watchful eye, a consistent 90%+ of shoppers have left our boutique with a complete wardrobe, while our volunteer force has more than quadrupled in size with minimal turn-over. Along the way, Robin has
won the respect of clients, volunteers, donors and her fellow staff with her can-do attitude, intuitive nature and sweet spirit.
We are fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with these incredibly impactful women and are so excited for them as they embark on new adventures.
We will miss you both!
