"For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you a hope and a future"
Raising Godly leaders for a country in need
October 2016
Many of you have been praying for Moses. Two years ago his leg began to swell and the family took him to a witch doctor who caused even more problems. Since then Moses' leg has had numerous infections which even effected his bone. Quality medical treatment can be very difficult to find in this third world country and Moses was stumping many doctors. Two surgeries and some partial bone removal later the problems continued. Fortunately another ministry recommended CoRSU Rehabilitation Hospital in Entebbe to us. Moses recently was seen by two Swiss doctors at this facility specializing in children's orthopedics and disabilities.
He finally received a clear diagnosis and will receive further treatment at CoRSU. Please continue to pray for Moses and for wisdom for the doctors. Pray that he will finally experience healing as well as for encouragement. After two years of much pain and limited mobility Moses is losing hope. We are praying for a miracle and that Jesus will use this experience for His glory.

Help for Kamonkoli Drought
We've been busy visiting supporting churches, friends and family around the country. We've had a few events that have been a huge blessing. We had our second food packing event at Christ Church in Fairview Heights, IL with the help of Kids Around the World and nearly 100 people from the church and the community coming together to prepare meals that we pray will be delivered to us in Uganda soon. It will be good timing as Uganda has suffered a drought this year and it will be difficult for those who live off the land to purchase food. Please pray for the community as they struggle and for the details of the shipment to come together in a timely manner, which is always tricky in a 3rd world country.

We had a great art show and book signing event on October 14 with over 75 guests in attendance. Thank you so much to Vera Anderson who visited us with a team in Uganda in January and created some beautiful art of her experience with HUM and the culture. Thank you to the Markey's for opening their home to make this an intimate and beautiful evening.

Thank you also to Jack Phillips of Masterpiece Cake Shop for creating and donating a beautiful and very tasty cake with our HUM logo and to King Soopers for their contribution to the food. And a big thank you to Cheryl, Andy, Paul, Debbie, Ed, Laurie & Jessie for volunteering their time to make it a lovely evening for all.   We still have some original art, prints and greeting cards left. Please call Cindy if you are interested in purchasing any of these.
