Instead of telling your students how you expect them to behave with honesty and integrity, have them develop their own expectations of each other in a Classroom Code of Ethics. They're likely to come up with the same rules that you would have given them, but this time they'll have ownership and understand why these things are important. You can do this with your whole class or later in the semester when students do group work. Developing a Team Code of Ethics and clearly articulating the expectations that members of a team have of each other can help to avoid many of the things that make students hate group work.
The links below are from Dr. Tricia Bertram Gallant who a few of you got the opportunity to meet when she was here in July. I have her permission for us to use them with attribution - so please make sure that you give her credit even if you modify them for your own uses. Tricia also recommends having groups of students create a code of ethics to establish expectations of each other for any group work that they do.
Other resources for Academic Integrity are at our library's
LibGuide
on the topic. I'm going to attempt to have a regular section in eNotes providing AI resources for your classroom - stay tuned! If you would like to help with ANY of this, the AI committee is desperately in need of new members.
Good luck with all of your classes this semester!

Dual Credit Tuition Waiver |
As some of you may already know, the State of Idaho Advanced Opportunities Fast Forward program
provides every student attending an Idaho public school an allocation of $4,125.00 to use towards Dual Credit courses. As a result of this funding opportunity to cover the dual credit tuition for eligible employees and their dependents, the College will not apply the tuition waiver toward this credit type. Consideration for the dual credit tuition waiver will be provided in the event the student is home schooled, attends private school, or has failed a course already paid for with Fast Forward dollars.
Dual credit students enrolling in regular-paying tuition courses offered at CSI campuses or online, are eligible for $75.00 dollars per credit with Fast Forward program funding. The tuition waiver will cover the remaining tuition balance.
To participate in the Advanced Opportunities Fast Forward program, students will need to create an account through the Advanced Opportunities portal (
https://advancedops.sde.idaho.gov). Students will be able to request funding through the Fast Forward program for dual credit courses. Additionally, students are able to track expenditures and balance allocation remaining. Please note that all accounts and requests must be approved through each student's local school district.
Please contact the CSI Dual Credit Office at (208) 933-2320 or Tina Polishchuk, Statewide Advanced Opportunities Coordinator (208) 332-6944 for more information on the Advanced Opportunities Fast Forward program.
Can private/home school students access Fast Forward funds?
The statute governing these programs explicitly states that these funds are available to students who are attending and Idaho public school.
In many cases, homeschool/private school students choose to dually enroll and participate in public school activities as well as homeschool/private school coursework. Many homeschool/private school families have chosen to mix and match the course pathway for their student to include at least one such course, making these funds accessible.
Note:
Local enrollment policies will apply and vary from district to district.

tremendous health benefits
such as improved digestion, weight loss, increased energy, cleansing and detoxification, immune support, reduced joint pain, and cancer prevention. The Kombucha Brewing Workshop will use hands on instruction to explain how to brew, how to flavor, how to store, and how to share Kombucha. Attendees will not only leave with knowledge of the brewing basics, but also a take home Kombucha Brewing Kit that includes SCOBY (live Symbiotic Culture of Bacterial Yeast in starter liquid), large glass container, cheesecloth, tea, sugar, and recipes. It has been a challenge to keep up with all the department changes and new hires over the summer, but we believe our online directory is now current and accurate. We thank all the campus supervisors for helping us to make it so. If you spot anything out of place, please let Anita or Judy in the HR office know.
New
: The Quick Reference to departments, programs and buildings that has long been found in the back of the hard copy directory, along with campus FAX numbers, has also been updated and added as a link to the online directory. This is a helpful resource to direct numbers to all those areas, our benefits providers, non-CSI entities that reside on campus, street addresses for off-campus programs and agencies, and more. While contacts in each department on campus have already offered suggestions for updates, we invite and encourage your input now and ongoing so this document remains current over time.

In-between your Honey Do List and carting the kids to and from their summer activities you might have forgotten about your dental insurance - wait, say what about dental insurance?
That's right, summer is the perfect time to get your dental coverage in check.
Use this checklist to take care of your dental insurance tasks:
1. Make Your Dentist Appointments
Summer break is an especially good time for children to visit the dentist since they won't miss any school. At their summer appointment, it is a good idea to schedule another appointment for about 6 months down the road, which could give you time to coordinate their winter break with that visit. Find a
Delta Dental dentist near you now.
2. Make qualifying coverage changes
Changes that affect your insurance can happen at any time, and these changes could qualify you to enroll in a new plan. Qualifying events include things like getting married, having or adopting a child, moving to a different county or state, and changes to your income.
3. Plan Before Open Enrollment
Most people have open enrollment at the end of the year, so now is a good time to evaluate what kind of changes you may face next year. Talk to your dentist about planning for major dental work like braces, dental implants and wisdom teeth removal. This will give you a chance to figure out what coverage changes you may need, and give you a head start on budgeting for dental work. Compare
individual plans here
, or
contact one of our friendly representatives
about coverage changes.
