Chaminade Julienne uses the One Call Now phone messaging service to deliver important schedule changes, updates, and emergency information to parents. This service is used to send weather closing or delay information, messages from the business office and other important notifications from club moderators and coaches.

After school on Friday, Nov. 4, I will send a test call through One Call Now to the phone number on file with your child. If you do not receive the phone or text message after Friday, please email me so I can ensure your phone number is in our system. All new students had at least one contact number entered into One Call Now at the beginning of the school year. If you would like additional phone numbers added to your child's file please contact me.

Additionally, there is a free app for smart phones called "My Call Now" where you can sign up to receive the One Call Now communications through the app.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to double-check the phone number on your student's One Call Now file or have any questions about this process.

PARENTS

Class of 2017 Parents
Optional Graduation Items
Senior students attended a presentation from Josten's on Monday. The students were sent home with information regarding ordering optional graduation announcements and other items. If your student missed the presentation, additional envelopes are available in the Office of Student Services.
Please note: Chaminade Julienne orders all caps and gowns for graduates. Parents do not order cap and gowns, as this is part of the graduation fee. Any additional clothing items ordered through Josten's are not within the uniform guidelines and can not be worn during the school day.
You will receive more information about graduation at a later date, including the graduation timeline. Stay tuned!

Fall Phonathon - Thank You!
Thank you to the parents who made our fall Phonathon a great success!  With your help, over 12,000 calls were made in just 12 days. We appreciate your time in joining over 100 student, faculty and alumni volunteers who surpassed last year's gifts by raising over $100,000 for the Annual Fund.  This fund benefits all students by supplementing tuition and providing  the unique CJ experience.
Many of you answered the call during Phonathon and made a gift or pledge - THANK YOU!   We are truly blessed by your generosity.  While our volunteers were able to call everyone at least once, in case they were unable to reach you, please take a moment to join the nearly 1,000 contributors and make a gift to the Annual Fund online   here .
You can see your investment at work in our students each day as they use their gifts to serve others and our community.

MINISTRY & SERVICE

From the Chaplain's Office
This week, several CJ students decorated a side altar in the CJ chapel in celebration of El Dia de los Muertos ("The Day of the Dead").  This Mexican tradition is a way of remembering our loved ones who have died.  At first glance of the altar, it might startle you a little - bright colors, food, decorated skulls - more of a fiesta than a solemn remembrance.  But it is a good reminder of our faith, that Jesus Christ, through his Passion, Death and Resurrection, has conquered death and has given us a pledge of eternal life in heaven.  This ought to give us reason to rejoice!  Throughout the month of November, we will continue to pray for all members of the CJ community and their loved ones who have died and for those that are grieving.  May we all know the peace and love of our Good God!

November Kairos
Permission Slips and Meeting
Next week is our second senior Kairos retreat of the year.  Students attending the retreat will receive permission forms this week and will attend a homeroom meeting  on Friday  where they will receive a packing list and more details about the retreat.  Any student who needs to take medication while on retreat needs to bring their medication to the nurse before they leave for retreat.
Please remember in your prayers all of the students, student leaders and chaperones.
