WATER: WORTH YOUR FIGHT!

Since 2012, the State Water Board has threatened a water grab in the San Joaquin Valley. That threat is real, it's facing us now, and it's worth your fight!



PUMPING RECORDS VITAL TO ESTABLISHING GROUNDWATER RIGHTS

The state of California has now begun implementation of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) of 2014. Individual agencies monitoring basins are now developing Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs).  These GSAs must be established by June 30, 2017 for both medium and high priority basins.
STANISLAUS TRANSPORTATION TAX ON NOVEMBER BALLOT

The Stanislaus Council of Governments has proposed an Expenditure Plan based on a 25-year, half-cent sales tax measure for consideration by voters on the November 2016 ballot called Measure L. The Plan is based on a 1/2 cent sales tax over the next twenty-five years to generate revenue to operate, maintain and improve our transportation system. 
CHANGES IN CITY OF MODESTO'S WASTEWATER BANKING ORDINANCE

After four years of negotiations, the draft of a new wastewater ordinance addressing permitting and discharge rights for all industrial users (formerly "banking ordinance") for the City of Modesto has been approved. 
WASTEWATER RATE CHANGES IN CITY OF MODESTO

Wastewater rates have changed for all rate payers to the City wastewater treatment system in Modesto. 
STANISLAUS CHEMICAL SAFETY DAY

Free safety training will be offered at the Central Valley Chemical Safety Day (CVCSD) at the Turlock fairgrounds on November 10, 2016. This valuable training event is designed to increase industry and public awareness about the importance of preparing for chemical emergencies and to encourage companies and their employees to take action. 

MCCV TO CELEBRATE MANUFACTURING DAY
Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing intended to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. While the first Friday in October is designated as the official Manufacturing Day, events that showcase manufacturing can occur anytime throughout the year.
PM2.5 PLAN IN DEVELOPMENT

The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District PM2.5 2012 Plan (est. in 2006) is currently in development. In order to comply with the Federal PM2.5 standard, major changes will be required.
